Cattle branding is a traditional method of permanently identifying livestock, primarily cattle, by applying a unique mark to their hide. This mark is typically made using a hot iron (hot branding).

The branding iron is heated until it reaches a dull red color (around 500-700°F).

  • The animal is properly restrained to ensure safety and precision.

Application:

  • The hot iron is pressed firmly onto the animal’s hide for 3 to 5 seconds.
  • It creates a burn that kills the hair follicles and leaves a permanent scar in the shape of the brand.
